2026 Chequessett Club Kayak Storage Program

Terms & Conditions

1. Kayak Identification

All kayaks enrolled in the storage program must bear clearly visible identifying marks prior to being placed on the rack. Required information includes:

• Member’s last name
• Member’s active phone number

Kayaks that cannot be identified may be removed from the rack without prior notice. The Club is not responsible for any kayak that lacks proper identification.

2. Storage Period & Removal Deadline

Kayak storage is available for the duration of the Club season. All kayaks must be removed from the rack no later than:

September 7, 2026

Kayaks remaining on the rack after this date will be considered abandoned and may be removed and stored or disposed of at the Club’s discretion. Any costs associated with removal or storage will be the responsibility of the member.

3. Liability & Assumption of Risk

By participating in the kayak storage program, members acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Chequessett Club assumes no liability for damage, theft, loss, or vandalism to any kayak stored on the rack.
• The Club will not move, reposition, secure, or otherwise handle member kayaks at any time.
• The Club does not provide protection from inclement weather, including but not limited to wind, rain, flooding, or storm damage.
• Members store their kayaks entirely at their own risk.
• The Club reserves the right to photograph stored kayaks for identification and administrative purposes.

Members are encouraged to carry appropriate personal property insurance for their kayaks.

4. Special Events — Boathouse & Beach Tent

Chequessett Club periodically hosts private and member events at the Boathouse and the tent on the beach. During these events, kayak access may be limited or inconvenient.

We strongly encourage members to refrain from accessing kayaks between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM on days when a special event is scheduled.

If you plan to use your kayak after 12:00 PM on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, please contact the Club office in advance to inquire about any events that may be taking place:

Call the Club office 508-349-3704 ext.2 before heading to the rack on Fri – Sun afternoons.

Your cooperation helps ensure a smooth experience for all members and event guests.

5. General Conditions

• Participation in the kayak storage program constitutes acceptance of these terms in full.
• The Club reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Members will be notified of material changes.
• Kayaks must be placed on the rack in an orderly manner and must not obstruct pathways or other members’ property.
• Members are responsible for ensuring their kayak is secured appropriately; the Club does not provide locks or tie-downs.
